Call for Entries:
The Naja’s 4th annual Jewelry Competition is Earrings
Jewelry artists – call for entries for the 4th annual Naja design contest. This year’s title is “Earrings” and all entries are due to the Naja no later than 5 PM on Monday, June 7, 2010. The contest is designed to reward excellence within the Colorado jewelry & metal artist community. First through third place winners receive cash prizes with the top three student winners receiving Naja gift certificates. Winners are featured in upcoming Naja newsletters. Additionally, we send press releases to Jewelry Artist and Art Jewelry magazines and for the past two years Jewelry Artist has featured full color pictures of the winners. Categories are broken into Professional/Amateur and Students. Forms are available at the Naja or online (see below). Limit 5 entries per artist - $10 entry fee per piece. Entries will be on view and for sale at the Naja through June 19, 2010 when winners are announced at the Naja's Open House. Good Luck!

"Fun with a
Hydraulic Press"
In this fun and informative demo Richard Sweetman
will demonstrate his Hydraulic Press which can be used by metalsmiths to help
bend & mold metals. Pre-made plexi-plate dies with laser cut designs are used to
press metal into different shapes giving metal artists a variety of pressed
pieces to use.
These affordable presses will be available at the Naja in two sizes along with
an assortment of plexi-plate dies.
Richard Sweetman will be teaching a one day workshop "Fun with Hydraulic Press"
at the Denver School of Metal Arts
on Saturday, February 20, 2010. Cost is $100.
